These programs in the School of Leadership & Management, Research and Technology at Open Christian University in South Africa will benefit working professionals who want to develop as leaders, managers, educators, ministers ready to serve within the accountability era facing education, corporate and church institutions. Students will be better prepared for current and future challenges and be more competitive in the marketplace. The main focus for this training is on competence in the application of concepts and theories in the related fields of Leadership in Education Business Management in the African work context.

The Leadership development drive is about changing learners into high performers, socially and ethically, with skills to work effectively with all people.  This programme, therefore is geared to enhance foundational competence, applied competence and reflective competence. 

The foundational competence entails concepts and theoretical grasp of information, communication and presentation of those concepts and theories and the development of communication skills.

Applied competence is shown by the usage of the inputs from the foundational competence agenda in practical skills.  An understanding of concepts and theories and application of those become an index of personal transformation and ownership of those expressed ideas.

Reflective or reflexive competence implies replay, analysis, synthesis, summarization of all the foundational inputs. In this way dynamic thinking skills are honed and refined for enhanced application in organisational contexts and interaction with both organisation -internal and external stakeholders. The reflexive skills are an index therefore of internalized competence in all areas of life.
